Resumen

Este trabajo estima ocho indicadores estándar de las cadenas globales de valor (CGV) en los cuatro países miembros de la Comunidad Andina (CAN) para los años 2000, 2005, 2010 y 2015. La evidencia sugiere que la mayoría de las CGV en la región son de tipo simple, dado que una parte significativa del producto exportable se utiliza como insumo intermedio en los países socios del comercio intrarregional. En consecuencia, la participación de la CAN en CGV de tipo complejo –aquellas en las que los productos de exportación cruzan al menos dos veces las fronteras– es aún limitada. Explorar el desarrollo de CGV complejas representa una oportunidad clave para diversificar la capacidad exportadora de la Comunidad Andina.
