Journal of Business of the Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) is a biannual academic journal published by Universidad del Pacífico Business School (Lima). The journal main goal is to disseminate theoretical and applied research supported with a solid theoretical framework in business topics. The journal is oriented to a sustainable development through an outstanding effort of disseminating scientific knowledge with high quality and impact. Journal of Business publish Peer-reviewed articles. Among its main lines of publication are the following: management, leadership, international business, entrepreneurship, innovation, social responsibility and business ethics.
FOCUS AND SCOPE
Journal of Business Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) is oriented to sustainable development through an outstanding job of disseminating scientific knowledge with high quality and impact. The journal seeks to contribute to the development of a Responsible Leadership for the World.
This journal is directed to researchers, academics, research centers and graduate students and undergraduate academic programs related to business. In addition, applied research papers may be of interest to entrepreneurs and business executives. Journal approach focuses on both public and private organizations and their impact on management and society.
Journal of Business Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Perú) will publish again two issues per year begining from 2018. The publication periods include the months of January to June and from July to December. The number of articles published will correspond to the editorial workflow of the journal.
TYPES OF CONTRIBUTIONS
Journal of Business publishes various topics of interest: papers that provide information, experience and know-how; general studies; case studies; empirical research; reports on developments in theory and practice; reports on advances in techniques and applications; views of professionals with proven experience; and book reviews. Journal of Business publish Peer-reviewed articles. Journal of Business Universidad el Pacífico (Lima, Perú) is a high scientific quality journal that seeks to disseminate theoretical and applied research supported with a solid theoretical framework. Our main research lines are the following: management, leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, social responsibility and business ethics.
All manuscripts are subject to prior analysis of their editors and Managing Board. They assess if the manuscript is suitable for the journal. The journal use a double blind review for the editorial process. After that the manuscripts are sent to a minimum of two expert reviewers which analyze the quality of the manuscript. The manuscript under review must be original, not previously published and which are not under review in any other publication. Although from 2017 Journal of Business Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Perú) is published primarily in English and some papers translated into Spanish, manuscripts can be submitted in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. The responsible for the final decision is the Editor in Chief.
Journal of Business Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) publish manuscripts following the international standard of anonymous reviewers using a double blind review process
Journal of Business maintains a digital archive of the journal it own and it makes available over SSRN.
We fight actively against plagiarism and fraudulent practices. Journal of Business Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) is aware of the problem of plagiarism. Manuscripts with plagiarism are automatically rejected. All papers published in the journal has been tested with anti-plagiarism software. When a plagiarism case is detected the editor in chief notify to the managing board and this information is included in the link of the paper.
Currently Journal of Business use SafeAssign and Similarity Check to detect plagiarism but under our process of continuous improvement We study situation of scientific plagiarism, ways to avoid these malpractices and new methods and software to apply. HOW THE JOURNAL DEAL WITH MIS-CONDUCT
The activities of the Editor in Chief are controlled and reported to the Managing Board including the working plan. The Managing Board report to the University Executive Committee. The University Executive Committee approve the budget. The Dean Prof. Martha Chavez approve each spending through a procedure with SAP Software coded by one of our editorial assisstant. If you detect a Mis-Conduct from the Editor in Chief, please send an email to any of the Managing Board member or to all of them. The Editor in Chief has not permission to include references or changes in the manuscript. All accepted papers by the reviewers are published. Before sending to review the manuscripts are analyzed by the Editor in Chief and his decision is communicated to the managing board. The managing board has seven days to decide if any of them has a different opinion to be considered. Please write to any member of the managing board if you detect any case that you consider as a mis-conduct. The Managing board must repond your email in two weeks.
In June 2018, Usage Statistics (US) was implemented, which refers to file downloads. The graphs that use the Article Level Metrics that refer to the file downloads and the summary visualization are not compatible with the current version of our platform. These statistics do not represent the total computation of visualizations of abstracts and download of articles since some of our collaborators include in their own servers a version of the published articles. This results in a faster download to the readers.
