Journal of Business, published by Universidad del Pacífico, is a scientific journal committed to disseminating high-quality, high-impact scholarly knowledge in the field of business.
FOCUS AND SCOPE
The journal is dedicated to disseminating high-quality, high-impact scientific knowledge on business in emerging economies. Its main areas of publication include management, leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, and other current topics related to business.
AUDIENCE
The journal is intended for researchers, academics, research centers, and undergraduate and graduate students in business-related academic programs. Applied research articles may also be of interest to entrepreneurs and business executives.
The journal focuses on both public and private organizations and their impact on management and society.
PERIODICITY
Journal of Business is published twice a year, in January and July.
TYPES OF CONTRIBUTIONS
Journal of Business of Universidad del Pacífico is a high-quality scientific journal that seeks to disseminate theoretical and applied research, as well as essays supported by a solid theoretical framework.
Its main areas of research include management, leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, corporate social responsibility, and business ethics.
The journal publishes exclusively scientific and academic content.
PEER REVIEW
The journal publishes primarily in Spanish and English and follows international standards of anonymous peer review through a double-blind review process.
All manuscripts undergo a preliminary assessment by the journal's editors. Journal of Business of Universidad del Pacífico uses a double-blind peer-review system. Manuscripts are also screened using plagiarism-detection software both before and after the peer-review process.
OPEN ACCESS POLICY
Journal of Business is an open-access publication that provides free, immediate, and unrestricted access to all its content, in accordance with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
The journal promotes barrier-free dissemination of scientific knowledge as a means of strengthening global scholarly exchange, with particular emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean.
Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles and may use them for lawful purposes without prior permission from the publisher or authors, provided that appropriate attribution is given.
All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits reuse, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original source.
The journal does not charge article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees. Editorial costs are fully funded by the Office of the Vice President for Research at Universidad del Pacífico through its Editorial Fund.
PROCESSING CHARGES
Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal, whether or not the manuscripts are ultimately published, are not required to pay any processing or publication fees for articles or reviews. Editorial costs are covered by the Office of the Vice President for Research of Universidad del Pacífico through its Editorial Fund.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY
To prevent conflicts of interest, when a manuscript is submitted by an author affiliated with Universidad del Pacífico, the editorial process is handled by an external Associate Editor.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The organizational structure of Journal of Business of Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) includes an Editor-in-Chief (Nicolas Pécastaing – n.pecastaing@up.edu.pe), an Editorial Assistant (Alejandra Alvarado Flores, Universidad del Pacífico), a team of translators and copy-editing specialists, and two external advisers with expertise in the OJS platform.
DIGITAL ARCHIVING AND PLAGIARISM POLICY
Journal of Business maintains its own digital archive and also makes its content available through SSRN.
Journal of Business actively works to prevent plagiarism and other forms of research misconduct. Manuscripts containing plagiarism are automatically rejected. All articles are screened using plagiarism-detection software.

Journal of Business currently uses SafeAssign to detect plagiarism and, as part of its continuous improvement process, continues to assess new plagiarism-detection methods and technologies.
