Abstract

By means of this paper, the author perfroms an analysis of the content of the right to freedom of conscience, with a special emphasis on phenomenon of conscientious objection. He begins by discussing the origins of this right in the context of humanity’s history and its consolidation over the years. He then goes to analyse in depth the contents of this right from our constitutional text and doctrine; to land on the issue of the consciousness’ objection and the difference between the right to freedom of conscience and religious’ freedom.
