The authors make an interpretation of its normative meaning and the scope of the autonomous criminal liability of legal persons together with the relevant procedural
aspects. In current criminal law, the adequate implementation and correct administration of compliance programs may even exempt the company from criminal liability in criminal proceedings as a demonstration of compliance with the law. These issues are dealt with by the authors in this paper, with a specific reference to the existing legislation, doctrine and jurisprudence on the subject.
