This article quantifies human capital in Peru and presents it is monetary terms. Calculations are made as regards stock and investments in human capital, as well as rates of return. The main variable applied here is educational standards. The study is based on 1981 census information referring to employment levels by sex, age and level of education. From this, the article then calculates employability life expectancy depending on the characteristics of each population sector mentioned. The accumulated figure, bearing in mind survival probability, time-between-jobs discount rate and projected real income growth in the country, reveals the level of wealth in human terms in 1981.Downloads
