The affirmation of democracy in this century

This essay reviews the historical process of affirmation of democracy in the contemporary world. It emphasizes the role played in this process by the political ideas and public institutions of the United States of America. However, it concludes pointing out the main reason that explains the triumph of democracy: its deep relation with basic human values, such as honor and freedom.Downloads
