The article shows China's main characteristics, especially the economic reform implemented by the government since 1979. One of tire most important changes occurred in the external sector with the opening of foreign policy, which allowed the creation of the "Economic Special Areas" in different provinces, such as Guangdong, Xiamen and Fujian. This promoted an increase of foreign investment toward the areas mentioned above, as well as an improvement in its structure and in its trade.
