Vol. 53 No. 100 (2026): Apuntes 100
Happy 100th Issue of Apuntes. Revista de Ciencias Sociales!
This new issue marks a milestone in the history of Apuntes: we have reached one hundred editions thanks to an academic community—editorial team, authors, reviewers, and readers—that has remained committed to sustaining our goal of publishing original articles on Latin America and the Caribbean by scholars who contribute to the study of the social sciences and economics from a long-term perspective.
To begin celebrating this milestone, we introduce in this issue a new section entitled “Tinta y Cátedra”, which features interviews with researchers whose questions and theoretical or methodological approaches have helped deepen the study of the thematic lines that have concerned Apuntes throughout its 53-year history.
This issue brings together eight articles written by 21 researchers from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, and Peru. Their contributions explore, among other topics, the relationship between traditional knowledge and modern medicine in the Peruvian Amazon; the effects of news digitalization on price levels in Colombia; the impact of global value chains in the Andean Community; civil construction as a driver of economic growth in Bolivia; the measurement of political polarization in Argentina; the relationship between intersectionality and psychosocial interventions; barriers to the consumption of financial products; and a methodology for determining the social value of cultural heritage in Argentina.
Over the past semester, we have lost three scholars who supported Apuntes at various stages of its trajectory: Efraín Kristal, Bruno Podestá, and Rosemary Thorp. In the Obituaries section, we pay tribute to their lives and scholarly contributions.
To many more issues of Apuntes! Thank you very much for being part of our academic community.
